Alfred Noble Branch LibraryAlfred Noble Branch Library known as Livonia Public Library consists of four branches that are Alfred Noble, Carl Sandburg, Civic Center and Vest Pocket. The City Librarian and the Library Commission administration run in all four branches. The Livonia Library Commission is maintaining an attractively housed, financially-sound, publicly responsive, full-service library system with an originally conceived and planned by City

officials and professional librarians and historically supported by the community at large.

Library programs and services are designed in such a way that they meet a wide variety of Educational, Informational.Cultural.and Recreational, Business-related needs in a rapidly changing society. These programs and services will help to meet the needs of children, youth, young adults and seniors. The Library continues to recognize the need of overcoming operational and physical limitations that individuals faces as they use their services and programs.

Library special collections includes

Book Club Kits- Civic Center Library has a collection of books packaged specifically for book clubs like the Entire King's Men by Robert Penn Warren, All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque, 1984 by George Orwell kit, A Beautiful Mind by Sylvia Nasar, and many more. Each contains 4 to 5 copies of the book plus a discussion guide. The Adult Services section of the Livonia Public Library offers both basic and intermediate classes at Civic Center Library for those who have never used a mouse before and there are also many hand references instructions on how to use the mouse properly and a few other tips for basic computer use. Civic Center and Noble libraries offer a wide range of books on discussion groups for adults. There are facilities instantly, with children's programs at all branches titled as new ‘children's titles’ at each library, book suggesting by reading level or by age or by top. Students can find homework helpers, children’s magazines and newspapers, and even complete a need of encyclopedia, dictionary, and maps or Keep a Reading Log and get suggestions for good books. The most important section of books has fun, games, coloring and learning activities.

Livonia History Collection- Library looks for people to record their memories and descriptions of major events, local businesses, visits by famous people, or even just everyday life in and around Livonia in earlier days. Oral histories are being recorded at Civic Center Library and then transcribed into a paper copy, indexed and made accessible for study and, which in future can be available on websites.

Peace Collection and Michigan Collection- The nonprofit organization have donated a large number of books to Civic Center Library that center around the topic of peace. The collection includes books for youths and adults for nonviolent social change and nonviolent conflict resolution between people and nations. Books written by Michigan authors or about Michigan are produce as part of our "Michigan collection" at Civic Center Library.
